ROBERT CHERRY
Bio
Robert Cherry has been a teacher, journalist, businessman and author. His first book, Wilt: Larger Than Life, is a celebrated, and oft-quoted, biography of the American sports legend, Wilt Chamberlain. His second book, Cherry Delight, is a memoir of his parents and while neither of them ever led the NBA in rebounding or scoring, as did Wilt Chamberlain, they are still worth reading about, even celebrating. His third book, Living Liberia, is a memoir of Robert Cherry’s life in, and an engaging story about, Liberia. Fifty years in the making, Living Liberia is the author’s favorite of his three books.
Robert Cherry has been a general assignment reporter or editor at four newspapers, including The Arizona Republic, and his freelance work has appeared in The New York Times and The Jerusalem Post, among other publications. A native Philadelphian—with the accent to prove it—he lives in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and Pompano Beach, Florida.
